Brown Sugar Glazed Baked Ham

November 19, 2019 • 0 comments

When I think of Christmas, I think of glazed ham. It’s a longstanding tradition. The brown sugar glaze is made with pineapple juice and makes a tasty sauce. This recipe can be used with a ½ ham or altered for smaller ham slices.

Ingredients

  • (12lb) Bone-In Ham
  • (1/2 cup) Whole cloves
  • (1 cup) Brown sugar
  • (4 cups) Water
  • (1/2 cup) Pineapple juice

Directions

1 - Preheat oven to 350F.

2 - Place ham in roasting pan. Press whole cloves into ham at about 1" spacing. Pack the top of the ham with brown sugar. Pour 1" water into bottom of roasting pan. Cover pan with a lid.

3 - Bake 4-1/2 to 5 hours (about 22 minutes per pound). You can use a meat thermometer to check for doneness at 160F. Let rest 20 minutes before carving.
